I’m a double major, studying arts management and journalism at SUNY Purchase. I will be graduating in May 2019. I aspire to become involved with PR and communications within the music industry.

I first picked up a DSLR camera a couple summers ago for a trip to Europe. It was my father’s camera that I somehow started using more than him. He respected that I learned how to use it manually, so he let me keep it as my own. After shooting and posting dozens of landscape and portrait photos, a few of my friends who create music asked me to take photos of them for their social media.

DJ-ing is actually my first craft, which I used as a tool to introduce my audience to local and underground artists by playing their music. Pretty much, photography unintentionally became my second medium to exhibit new artists. So I started to use my photography along with my journalism skills to share stories of artists. Taking photos remains a hobby, and occasionally a side-job.

 

My photography style is heavily based on visually portraying a life story that my subjects shared with me. Ultimately, I just want to be a liaison for music artists that I believe deserve recognition.
